2012 TwinSpires Online Handicapping Series

A total of 114 seats to Las Vegas will be awarded during the 2012 TwinSpires Online Handicapping Series, including an unprecedented 100 seats on a single day in our Online Championship on November 24th. All told, we will be giving our players a chance to compete for 34 seats to the 2013 National Handicapping Championship at Treasure Island and 80 seats to the Coast Casinos Horse Player World Series at The Orleans.

You can begin qualifying as early as April 4th when the first of many $10 Satellites kicks off the second year of the popular TSOHS.

This year's series features some important changes to the tournament structure:

1. Entries to each tournament will be capped at a preset maximum.
2. The $50 Saturday contests will award 25 entries to that month's $200 Final tournament instead of just 5.
3. The $200 Saturday contests will award two NHC Prize Packages instead of one.
4. The $200 Saturday contests will award 20 entries to the Nov. 24 Championship instead of 10.
5. The Nov. 24 Championship will be limited to a maximum of 350 entries (limit 2 per player).
6. The Nov. 24 Championship will award NHC seats to the top 20 and HPWS seats to 21st - 100th places.
7. The TwinSpires Online Handicapping Champion will win a 2013 VIP Kentucky Derby Experience for two.

All you have to do is cash a winning $5 Show bet on a single horse in as many races as you can on the following race days at Calder: April 14, April 28, May 12 and May 26. Players may place only one contest wager on a single horse per race.

If you cash a winning contest wager in the most races on a single day, you will win or split $1,000 with any other winner(s) on that day. At the end of the contest series, the player or players who cash the most contest wagers over all four contest days will win or split a $1,000 bonus prize.

The $5,000 Calder Showdown Series consists of four separate contests held on the dates listed below, plus a fifth bonus contest consisting of all four contest dates cumulatively.

Contest Rules

All live races at Calder Race Course are eligible for contest play. South American simulcast races are not eligible for contest play.
Official contest wageris $5 to Show. Wagers placed for any other dollar amount are not eligible for this contest.
One contest wager per race. Only a player's first $5 Show bet on a single horse in a given race will count in the contest.
No Multi-horse wagers.Contest wagers must be placed on a single horse or coupled entry.
Winning results will be a determined by the official order of finish for each race.
Daily Scoring: Each time a player places a winning $5 Show bet on a given race, s/he earns 1 point in the contest. At the end of each contest day, the player(s) with the most points will win or split a $1,000 prize.
Series Scoring: At the end of the four-day contest series, the player(s) with the most points will win or split a $1,000 bonus prize.

Official Results for each contest will be posted by the Monday following each contest date. Cash prizes will be credited to the winner(s) accounts by the Tuesday following each contest date.
