North American racing fans have already had a chance to see Secret Gesture twice on this continent. The 2013 Epsom and German Oaks (G1) runner-up tried last year’s Filly & Mare Turf (G1), winding up fifth behind front-running Dayatthespa:

 

The Ralph Beckett pupil was kept in training in 2015 in hopes of finally landing a big one, and she started off on the right note when dictating throughout in the May 14 Middleton (G2) at York (click link for replay). Back up to the Group 1 level for the Pretty Polly (G1) at the Curragh, however, she was fourth:

 

Secret Gesture shipped to Arlington and appeared to have scored an overdue Grade 1, only to be disqualified for interfering with Stephanie’s Kitten and placed third:
