What Are Bonus Bets?
A Bonus Bet is a promotional wager award that lets you place a bet on a race without using your own cash balance. Bonus Bets carry a designated value and may have specific conditions, such as eligible tracks, bet types, or expiration dates.
Where Can I Find My Available Bonus Bets?
Within all TwinSpires applications, a menu item titled "Bonus Bets" can be found in the My Account dropdown. All available bonus bets are listed within this menu and include additional information such as eligible tracks, eligible pools, and expiration date. Additionally, this information is available on the offers page under the "Bonus Bets" tab.
How do I use a Bonus Bet?
When building a bet for a track that offers a Bonus Bet (at least one bonus bet applies to the track being viewed), a yellow action bar will appear in your betslip after a runner is selected. Simply click the action bar to apply the Bonus Bet instead of using cash. Keep in mind, the bet must meet all track, pool, value, and expiration requirements.
Can I mix bonus funds with normal, cash funds to complete a bet?
No, each Bonus Bet must be applied as a stand-alone wager amount. If a bet is built that is greater than the value of the Bonus Bet(s) available, the Bonus Bet will not be selectable in the Bonus Bets modal after clicking the yellow action bar.
What happens when I build a bet that is less than the value of the Bonus Bet token?
When a bet is built that does not use the full value of a Bonus Bet, the unused portion of the bonus bet is forfieted.
Do Bonus Bets Expire?
Yes, Bonus Bets will expire on a specific date usually within 1 week (7 days) of being granted to the player. Expiration dates are located on the Account menu dropdown as well as the terms and conditions of the bonus.
Can multiple Bonus Bets be used at once?
No, only one Bonus Bet can be applied to a bet at a time.
What happens when I have used a Bonus Bet to place a bet, but my horse scratches?
A refund equal to the total value of bonus bet amount is issued. This refund will not include any forfeited bonus bet value (i.e., the refund will be equal to the total amount actually bet). Partial refunds will also issue a cash refund.
Can I cancel a bet that was placed using Bonus Bets?
No, once a bet is placed using a Bonus Bet, the bet cannot be cancelled.
Can Bonus Bets be used for conditional bets or Betshares?
No, Bonus Bets are not available to be used when placing a conditional bet or a BetShare.
