Credits FAQs & Best Practices
How Paddock Pro Credits Work
A complete guide to purchasing, using, and managing your credits
What are Paddock Pro Credits?
Paddock Pro Credits are the currency that powers your access to Paddock Pro — the AI-powered horse racing chatbot built into the TwinSpires app. Credits let you ask the chatbot freeform questions about races, runners, pace scenarios, speed figures, and anything else you want to dig into.
Each credit has a fixed face value of $0.01. That means every dollar you spend gives you 100 credits at the standard rate. Larger credit packs may include bonus credits.
| Fixed credit value $0.01 per credit — always | Standard rate $1.00 = 100 credits |
How do I purchase Paddock Pro Credits?
Credits are purchased directly through the TwinSpires app. Open the Paddock Pro section and tap the Unlock Access button to see available credit packs.
Payment method
All credit pack purchases are deducted directly from your TwinSpires wagering account balance. No credit card, PayPal, or external payment method is accepted. You must have a sufficient wagering account balance to complete a purchase.
Available credit packs
Credit packs are available at two levels:
| Pack | Price | Credits Received | Effective Rate | Bonus |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Pack | $10 | 1000 credits | $0.01 / credit | None |
| Pro Pack | $50 | 5000 credits | $0.01 / credit | None |
Exact pack pricing and credit amounts will be confirmed before launch.
How are credits consumed?
Each time you submit a question to the Paddock Pro chatbot, credits are deducted from your balance to cover the cost of processing your query. Credits are consumed when a response has been delivered.
What affects the number of credits per question?
The number of credits deducted per question is variable. It is calculated automatically based on several factors:
- Query complexity — a detailed multi-part question costs more to process than a simple one
- Question length — longer questions contain more text for the AI to read and process
- Conversation history — as your chat session grows, the AI carries more context into each new question. Questions asked later in a long conversation will typically cost slightly more than the same question at the start of a fresh chat. Clearing your browser session cache will reset the conversation history.
- AI model in use — TwinSpires may update the underlying AI model powering Paddock Pro. Different models may consume different numbers of credits per question
Estimated credit costs
The credit pack purchase screen shows example costs for common question types. These are estimates based on typical queries at the start of a fresh conversation — they are not a guarantee of the exact cost for any specific question.
| Question Type | Estimated Credits | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Simple pick | ~20-30 credits | "Give me a pick for Race 3 at Parx" |
| Formatted analysis (longshot, pace, recap) | ~50 credits | "Give me a longshot prediction for Race 2 at Keeneland" |
| Trainer / jockey stats | ~75-80 credits | "Which trainers or jockeys have been hot lately in Race 2 at Keeneland?" |
| Full card or multi-race | ~100+ credits | "Give me best bets for all races at Keeneland today" |
Actual credit deductions may be higher or lower depending on the factors listed above.
Questions the chatbot cannot answer
If you submit a question that the Paddock Pro chatbot is unable to answer — for example because it falls outside the model's knowledge, is too complex, or is unrelated to horse racing — credits are still consumed. The cost of processing your question is incurred at the point of submission, regardless of whether the response is useful to you.
Restricted questions
If you submit a question that triggers the chatbot's content filters, your question will not receive a response and credits are still deducted. Repeated violations may result in a temporary suspension of your Paddock Pro Plus access. Please review the Paddock Pro Community Guidelines for more information on what types of questions are not supported.
When do my credits expire?
Credits purchased in a credit pack expire on a fixed date 365 days from your date of purchase. Your expiration date is displayed on your purchase confirmation screen.
The 365-day window is fixed from the date of purchase and does not change based on how often you use the chatbot.
What happens to unused credits when they expire?
Any credits remaining in your balance on your expiration date are automatically returned to your TwinSpires wagering account balance at a rate of $0.01 per credit.
Example: If you have 350 credits remaining when your pack expires, $3.50 will be automatically returned to your TwinSpires wagering account. You do not need to request a refund or take any action.
The returned amount is added to your TwinSpires wagering account balance — not to a new Paddock Pro credit balance. To use the chatbot again after your credits have expired you will need to purchase a new credit pack.
How do I check my credit balance?
Your current credit balance is displayed inside the Paddock Pro chat experience at all times. The number shown is your live remaining balance — updated automatically after each question you submit.
Individual question costs are not shown as separate line items in your account history. Your TwinSpires account history records top-level credit pack purchases only, displayed with the reason code "Paddock Pro chatbot".
Frequently Asked Questions
| Question | Answer |
|---|---|
| Can I use credits for anything other than the Paddock Pro chatbot? | No. Paddock Pro Credits can only be used to submit questions to the Paddock Pro Plus chatbot. They have no monetary value outside of this experience and cannot be transferred or gifted to another player. |
| Can I get a refund before my credits expire? | Credits are not refundable before their expiry date. However, any unused credits remaining at the 365-day expiration date are automatically returned to your TwinSpires wagering account as described above. |
| What happens if I run out of credits mid-conversation? | You will be notified when your credit balance is empty. If your balance reaches zero you will not be able to submit new questions until you purchase additional credits. Your conversation history is preserved — you can pick up where you left off after buying a new pack. |
| Why was I charged credits for a question that wasn't answered? | The cost of processing your question is incurred at the point of submission, regardless of whether a satisfying answer is returned. This applies to questions outside the model's knowledge, overly complex queries, and questions blocked by the content filter. |
| Where does the returned credit value go when my pack expires? | Unused credits are converted back to USD ($0.01 per credit) and returned to your TwinSpires wagering account balance automatically on the expiration date. The funds are available for wagering — they are not added to a new Paddock Pro credit balance. |
| Can I purchase more than one credit pack at a time? | No, you may only purchase one credit pack at a time. |

How to prompt your AI handicapping assistant for sharper, more actionable answers
Paddock Pro is loaded with today's full race data: past performances, live odds, trainer and jockey stats, workouts, weather, track biases, and more. The quality of its answers depends on the quality of your questions. This guide gives you the tools to ask great ones.
| 5 KEYS TO PROMPTING PADDOCK PRO EFFECTIVELY | ||
1 | Be Specific | Name the track, race number, and horse whenever possible. "Who should I use on top in Race 5 at Churchill?" gets a far better answer than "who should I bet?" |
2 | State Your Goal | Tell Paddock Pro what you're trying to accomplish, whether picking a winner, finding an overlay, or building an exotic. A clear objective shapes a sharper, more useful answer. |
3 | Mention Conditions | Reference today's surface, distance, or weather when relevant. Paddock Pro knows the track condition and forecast. Ask how specific horses stack up given those factors. |
4 | Compare Head-to-Head | Ask Paddock Pro to directly compare two or three horses. Side-by-side comparisons on speed, pace, class, or trainer stats often surface angles you'd miss reviewing each one alone. |
5 | Keep the Conversation Going | Don't stop at one question. Follow up, narrow down, and dig into specific angles. The best insights often come from the third or fourth question in a conversation. |
