History of the Grande Prêmio Brasil
Inaugurated in 1933, the Grande Premio Brasil is the premier Thoroughbred race on the Brazilian racing calendar. One of the more notable past winners is Bal a Bali, a back-to-back Brazilian National Champion Colt who captured their win in 2014. In that same year, the race was first included in the Breeder's Cup Challenge Series, gaining the winner an automatic berth in the Breeder's Cup Turf.
