Other big races here include the $350,000 American Oaks (G1) on July 13; the $250,000 Gamely S. (G1) on Memorial Day, May 27; the $250,000 Vanity H. (G1) on June 15; and both the $300,000 Shoemaker Mile (G1) and $250,000 Triple Bend H. (G1), on June 29.

The closing day feature, as always, is the $100,000 Sunset H. (G3), held on July 14 this year.

Opening weekend is all about the Cal-bred runners, on Saturday at least, with eight races scheduled for the Golden State stars. The $300,000 Snow Chief S. is the topper, with the $250,000 Melair S., $125,000 Tiznow S., $125,000 B Thoughtful S., $70,000 Grey Memo S., $70,000 Warren’s Thoroughbred S., $60,000 Alphabet Kisses S. and $60,000 NTRA S. on the undercard.
