HONEY FOX THE GULFSTREAM FEATURE
A well-matched field of fillies and mare is likely to contest the G3 $100,000 Honey Fox Stakes at Gulfstream Park on Saturday. This one mile turf event attracted Juddmonte import Aviate, in her U. S. debut for Bill Mott. The four-year-old Group 3 vixen has kept excellent company overseas but lost four in a row following a three-race win streak to begin her career. The daughter of Dansili should be a major factor with something close to her best.
Akilina was third in this last season and is training well following a fourth-place allowance run in advance of this for Christophe Clement. Grade 3 queen Bay to Bay will make her four-year-old debut on this day for Brian Lynch, and the ultra-talented offspring of Sligo Bay should be rolling late if ready off the bench. British import Champagnelifestyle, G3 Marshua River Stakes victress Justaroundmidnight, James Toner’s well-bred Much Rejoicing and dual stakes winner Never Retreat, are among the others likely contenders in here.
