Hutcheson The Main Attraction At Gulfstream

Two stakes events will be held at Gulfstream Park on Saturday, with the seven-furlong, $200,000 Hutcheson S. (G2) easily the top draw. Three-year-old speedsters will be in focus in this field and Grade 2 winner Corfu will look to get back on track in this dash. The expensive son of Malibu Moon began his career with a pair of scores, including the Saratoga Special (G2), but is winless in four straight since. He stopped early in the Spectacular Bid S. last time but could surely improve as the speed of the field.

Trail Blaze gives Pletcher a big one-two punch in this one, as he looked a bit rusty when fourth in the Spectacular Bid. The son of Indian Charlie had one of the better debuts this fall in New York when dominating a decent field. Once-beaten Gulfstream Park Derby second Wildcat Red, the highly regarded Pablo Del Monte, fine maiden winner Gambler’s Ghost and stakes victor Cool Cowboy, look like the main players in this well-matched field.

The Saturday undercard will be led by the $75,000 Gulfstream Park Turf Sprint.
