Has yet to finish off the board in five career starts thus far which includes a trip to the winner's circle. The bay will be making his first start since the end of November when he put in a nice effort while facing allowance competition at Churchill in which he stalked the pace early, took the lead, and then tired a bit late to cross the wire in second, beaten by three parts of a length as the favorite but 10 1/2 lengths clear of his next nearest rival. A repeat of the BRIS Speed rating he posted in that effort would make him a threat in this spot and he tops the field in BRIS Prime Power by over seven points in addition to possessing the best BRIS Class rating. Trainer Mark Casse wins with 34% of his runners next out after being beaten as the favorite and with 17% of his runners returning from layoffs between 46 and 90 days. |

Makes the synthetic to dirt move in his second start back from the layoff after putting in a disappointing effort while facing optional claiming competition last out at Turfway in which he finished a well beaten sixth. The gelding has made only one try on the dirt thus far and that came in the start prior when he put in a dominating effort while facing maiden special weight competition at Indiana Downs in which he rallied from three lengths off the pace before taking command on his way to an easy 7 1/4 lengths while posting a BRIS Speed rating that would make him a threat in this spot. Trainer Kellyn Gorder wins 27% of the time with runners shipping to another circuit. |

Tends to be a bit up and down with his efforts but exits a nice effort last out while facing allowance competition at Remington in which he rallied from 10 lengths off the pace but ran out of ground late and crossed the wire in second, beaten by 1 1/4 lengths. A repeat of the BRIS Speed rating he posted in that effort will make him a contender in this spot and trainer Randy Morse wins 13% of the route races he has a runner in. Clifton Berry gets the call and he wins 21% of the route races he has a mount in. |

Makes the turf to dirt move and goes from a route to a sprint in his first start back from the layoff after having not started since early September when he put in a solid effort while facing $12,500 competition at Louisiana Downs in which he stalked the pace early but lacked the needed kick late and crossed the wire in second, beaten by only a head. Ramon Vazqeuz gets the call and he wins 14% of the sprints he has a mount in. |

War Romance |
5/1 |
Carolyn Murphy-trained son of Yonaguska has shown huge improvement in his last pair since removing the blinkers and will be a big player in this field wi5th even slight improvement. Dark bay five-year-old is a dual winner on this oval for a conditioner at 27% with a winner last time out, and we simply like the way this one has been going since removing the hood. De Leon will ride and should be closing with good energy in the stretch. |

Power Blast |
2/1 |
Red hot son of Jump Start has won both of his races on this oval and three in a row overall as the likely one to beat in this spot. Dark bay seven-year-old was super impressive last time at this level in blowing past them late, and though he did have a perfect pace to work with, the Kentucky-bred does have a bit of versatility and goes for a trainer at 20% with a winner last time out. Jacob Radosevich will ride and will be closing with the must use. |

5/2 |
Speed of the field gets a dream draw near the inside and could be gone in a field with mostly late runners. Carlos Lopez trained son of Shore Breeze held on gamely last time after opening a huge lead and is always a danger with his style, especially in this spot. Dark bay Illinois-bred is 2nd in Prime Power and we think he should be on all plays in case he gets away turning for home. Feliciano rides. |

Purely Boy |
8/1 |
Three-time local winner was defeated at this level last time but gets another pass having a lot of success on this main oval. Five-year-old gelding by Purim has a nice turn of foot evidenced by his tally two back, and he could peak in this one third off the layoff for a conditioner who is 33% in that category. Rankin pupil will be taking back early and gearing up with his best approaching the turn for home. |
