Prime Power third made a nice middle move but was caught chasing lone speed to the late stretch and tired in the latter stages two back at this level, and we will scrap that stakes try most recently in with too tough. Javier Negrette trainee has shown nice improvement since removing the blinkers a few back with three straight improved speed numbers in advance of this, and he has a nice post to be saving ground early and in with a chance turning for home. Son of Rock Hampton looms large in here. |

General Sham'mah |
4/1 |
Prime Power leader from the barn of Howard Lowe has run a pair of good ones to this point and comes off a fine maiden win to be a player right back in this one. Howard Love trainee owns the top Average Speed in the field and has a nice post to stalk the pace and make a run in the lane as a contender, for a low profile barn with limited starters to this point. Son of Kodiak Kowboy might be a bot of an overlay in his first with winners, but he's a must use we think under Jermaine Bridgmohan. |

Prime Power second responded to the removal of blinkers in a nice maiden claiming tally last time at Gulfstream, and we consider this one dangerous right back in here. Michael Wilson trainee has some tactical speed and can kick home, especially last time with the hood coming off. Prime Power second by Saint Anddan goes for a 20% allowance outfit who gave the sophomore a pair of nice drills in advance of this, and he could be the one at overlaid odds as well. |

Upset pick has faced a pair of very tough fields leading up to this at Gulfstream and we think he will relish the move here and get the job done today at a decent number. Dark bay colt by Not For Love is the first out of a winning dam and has flashed very good tactical foot in two straight while facing some nice ones, where he might press and take command in this one turning for home. Navarro is a fine 30% for the meeting here and Manny Cruz is always a nice addition. Second time with the blinks. |

Dark bay son of Tapit gets the rail for this route run and stretches out after a huge try in a sprint run when just missing. Sophomore colt has run a pair of good ones from four lifetime runs and the stakes placed Kentucky bred removes the blinkers on this occasion for Morales in hopes of getting him to relax some and kick home from a fine draw on the rail. Could peak third off the layoff, Zayas rides. |

Chestnut colt by Graeme Hall has flashed some potential leading up to this and has been close of late as a contender in this field getting a bit more ground to work with. Florida-bred has hung on the money a few times and has finished in the top four on four straight occasions, and has the early speed to be in the hunt early on from a good post to press of stalk the pace early on. Bocachica rides or a barn at 12% sprint-sprint-route. |

Drops in for a tag in his second start back from the layoff after putting in a disappointing performance last out while facing maiden special weight competition in which he finished a well beaten fifth. A repeat of the BRIS Speed rating he posted in that effort will make him a contender in this spot and he may be capable of better in his second start back. Trainer J. R. Caldwell wins with 14% of his runners making their second start off the layoff and with 15% of his runners going from maiden special weight to maiden claiming competition. |

Makes his first start since back in January when he put in a very nice effort at this level in his first start since being moved into the barn of trainer Lon Wiggins in which he stalked the pace early but lacked the needed kick late and crossed the wire in second, beaten by 2 1/4 lengths. A repeat of the BRIS Speed rating he posted in that effort will make him a contender in this spot and Wiggins wins with 13% of his runners returning from layoffs between 46 and 90 days. Clifton Berry gets the call and he wins 20% of the route races he has a mount in. |

Has put in dull efforts in both starts since returning from the layoff and should appreciate the class relief he gets today after facing maiden special weight competition in each of his two starts prior. A repeat of that effort will make him a contender in this spot and trainer Steve Asmussen wins with 26% of his runners going from maiden special weight to maiden claiming competition. In addition, he wins with 23% of his runners making their third start off the layoff. Ricardo Santana Jr. gets the call and he has combined with the conditioner for a 26% win rate over the last 60 days. |

The gelding missed by only a length at Churchill in the start prior. Trainer George Arnold wins with 14% of his runners making their second start off the layoff and 13% of the route races he has a runner in. Has run well in all three starts since being claimed and moved into the barn of trainer Federico Villafranco and exits a solid effort last out while facing $20,000 competition in which she stalked the pace early, took the lead, and then tired a bit late to cross the wire in second, beaten by 1 1/4 lengths. A repeat of the BRIS Speed rating he posted in that effort will make him a threat in this spot and Villafranco wins 20% of the sprints he has a runner in. Ramon Vazquez gets the call and he has combined with the conditioner for a 28% win rate over the last 60 days. |
