Go Daddy Girl | 3/1 | Prime Power 3rd from the barn of Dale Romans will make her 2013 debut in this spot, and could be the one if she runs like her seasonal finale, a big second on this oval. Dark bay daughter of The Daddy gets a nice post on the rail with a nice turn of foot, for a barn capable off the layoff for sure. Nice solid drills leading up to this; Corey Lanerie rides and is on a 36% run for this barn last 60 days. |

Marlene's Love | 8/1 | We really liked the maiden win and gameness from the Jimmy Baker trainee last time and give her a chance for the upset in this field. Chestnut filly draws wide in this affair but showed nice improvement second time out when taking over lone speed and staying well on late, and we like the turf to dirt move second off the layoff for a sharp barn at 21% turf to dirt. The sophomore could improve second off the shelf and benefits from having Rosie in the saddle. |
4 | |
Heaven's Saint | 5/2 | Dark bay daughter of Langfuhr finally broke through at Ellis Park most recently and could be a player right back after learning how to win. Bret Calhoun trainee has placed in two of her four previous runs on this main oval and goes for a conditioner at 21% with a maiden winner last time as well as 28% in the claiming ranks. Pacey sort will be forwardly placed from the start as a player beneath Joe Rocco, Jr. |

Salty Forecast | 5/1 | West Coast import is the wildcard in this field in making her local debut, in her first start for Bernie Flint, who is 22% first w/trainer. Prime Power leading daughter of Salt Lake tops the field in Prime Power, and while she has raced more often on synthetic ovals, the four-year-old owns a win and a third from a pair of tries on dirt and has looked good here, with a pair of solid morning moves on this oval. Leandro Goncalves rides and will has the win player in the mix early on. |

Kendall's Boy | 1/1 | Horse to beat ran a corker in his debut try at Saratoga and looms large with anything like that showing in here. Tom Amoss pupil was a huge second behind a sensational winner while tons clear of third, and though the son of Sky Mesa will likely be crushed at the windows, we can't see going elsewhere today while getting a clear draw outside. Prime Power leader owns the top Average speed in the group for a barn at 31% with second time runners, and this one looks like the logical single in this sequence. Bullet work and Rosie rides. |
2 | |
Pentafecta | 5/1 | Gelded son of Grand Slam is the first foal out of an unraced dam and could be any kind in here for Bret Calhoun, 22% debut maiden special weight. February foal shows a nice string of morning spins solely at this venue and is bred to be a runner first out of the box, and we like that Miguel Mena will be in the irons. Bullet gate drill three back adds some confidence -- watch the tote for more clues. |
6 | |
Selway | 5/1 | $80,000 son of D'wildcat didn't fire in his well-bet debut at Indiana Downs when moving way too wide throughout, but the Steve Asmussen charge has worked well since and could easily be the one for a barn that seems to specialize with second timer starters as of late. Dark bay colt is kin to four winners from as many to race, including one of the stakes variety, and has been using this home base so should thrive on this main strip. Santana rides and is 23% for this barn last 60. |
7 | |
Mister Blues | 12/1 | Sneaky top three player from the Proctor barn figures to be a big overlay in this field and we prefer to never overlook this outfit. Dark bay son of Mizzen Mast has trained very well on this oval for a while with a fine string of drills on this oval and has four winning siblings from four to run, two who have graduated as juveniles, so he could surely be live in here. Jesus Castanon rides for an outfit at 13% debut maiden special weight. |

Alydorable | 7/2 | Horse to beat from the Maker barn exits a decent stakes fourth at Saratoga last time and looms a big chance facing a bunch easier in this spot. Dark bay sophomore by Arch has been facing the best foes in this field and will be fresh for this off the layoff for a conditioner is 21% with a 46-90 day break. Prime Power second has good tactical speed and turn of foot, and we expect her to be super tough in this spot under Rosie Napravnik. |
3 | |
Strike Charmer | 3/1 | David Carroll pupil was a closing fourth in an allowance at Saratoga most recently and will be tough with any kind of forward move in this spot. Bay filly by Smart Strike was a fine maiden winner on this lawn two prior and has never run a bad one while showing nice improvement in each lifetime try for a sharp barn. Prime Power leader has Shaun Bridgmohan in the irons and should be doing her best work from off the pace today. Nice half-mile breeze here should have the sophomore ready. |
1 | |
Holiday Drama | 6/1 | Greg Foley trainee has shown huge improvement since joining this barn and moving to the lawn in her last pair, with a fine maiden tally most recently. Dark bay daughter of Langfuhr took to the addition of blinkers most recently at Indiana Downs and gets a cozy draw on the rail for this one for a trainer who is at 16% with turf starters. Miguel Mena rides and should be perched near midpack in the early stages. |
7 | |
Casa Tua | 15/1 | Longshot contender has been in fine form while facing softer in advance of this but we love the form and price, and will give this potential separator a look in here. Chestnut mare by Stormy Atlantic has won or placed in three straight, and has early foot in a field lacking pace, adding to the appeal for trainer Chad Cook, 15% third time off the layoff. Expect this miss to be close, or perhaps on the lead, early on and in with a shot under Roberto Morales. |

Hip Four Sixtynine | 6/5 | Class of the field in 2nd in Prime Power and draws outside in his debut for trainer Joseph Foster, 24% first w/conditioner. Chestnut colt by Southern Image has never run here but has a big turn of foot on the main oval and shows a solid prep when fourth off the two-month layoff. We like the pair of local drills and the outer post, and we'll land here in this spot. Chris Rosier rides. |
1A | |
Macabe's Gold | 3/1 | Prime Power leader has been second in two straight, by a head and a nose, in a pair of turf dashes and will be the one perhaps going turf to dirt in this spot. Eight-year-old gelding hasn't won in a while but does own a pair of local wins on an oval he has proven capable of running on, for a barn at a fine 32% with a beaten favorite most recently. Richard Eramia rides and will be tracking near midpack early on. |
4 | |
Barber Shop Rock | 5/1 | Dark bay son of Rock Hard Ten was a fine debut winner at Evangeline in advance of this and rates an obvious contender right back with any type of improvement on this occasion. Four-year-old Kentucky-bred has big early foot from a good barn from a nice post, and the colt could find himself dueling for the lead once again with Rodriguez taking the reins. 25% jockey/trainer combo last 60 days. |

Slammin Rose | 7/2 | Dark bay daughter of Strong Hope failed as the favorite on this oval in advance of this, but ran well while favored here and doesn't need all that much improvement in order to be the one in this spot. Kentucky-bred miss goes for a conditioner at 22% with a beaten favorite most recently and we like both the pair of local drills since and the forward progression this one has shown since joining this barn for Tomlinson. Francisco Torres will ride and have this one near the back to the top of the lane. |
5 | |
Roaringoodmartini | 2/1 | Prime Power leader in the field led until late before running second in her debut with winners last time, and the Hugh Robertson trainee could be lone speed in here. Four-year-old daughter of Roar of the Tiger has really moved forward in her last pair since being put into the race sooner, and she has a nice tactical edge on a lot of these, for an outfit at 24% with a beaten favorite last time. Florida-bred keeps bug pilot Esquiv'el in the silks and must be on the ticket. |
3 | |
Mission Storm | 3/1 | Prime Power 3rd from the barn of Larry Rivelli drops in class after facing $25,000 foes in two straight off the claim and could be the one for a barn at 26% down a class level. Four-year-old daughter of Johar has never won here but has a trio of placings on this turf oval, and she has the tactical foot to be in the hunt early on with James Graham riding. Consider this one a must use in this moderate field. |
2 | |
D Fifty | 8/1 | Contender from the barn of Mike Dini has won or placed in three straight on this turf at the level and we'll give this one a chance from off the pace today at a nice price. Dark bay daughter of Arch has consistent form on an oval she thrives upon, and the fact that she can also run on yielding going makes this one a player no matter how the turf is playing. Roman rides and will likely save ground to the top of the lane. |
