An interesting field of juveniles will go in the weekend feature at Gulfstream Park, the $100,000 Dania Beach S. (G3). This grassy test is the next spot for some nice prospects and should be a good wagering race, as well. Stakes winner Bon Accord, who was a nice fourth behind three big ones in the Juvenile Turf (G1) at Santa Anita last time, could make his return in here. The son of Showing Up has run a pair of very nice ones on the lawn and will be super tough if he keeps his current form.
Camden Street was a fine maiden winner on this lawn at first asking and was hammered down to 3-5 in that race, hinting that he must really look good in the mornings. Trained by Todd Pletcher, the son of Elusive Quality overcame a bit of a wide trip in that first run on this lawn and could be a nice one going forward. Cousin Stephen was a maiden romper on the main oval at Aqueduct and might take to the lawn for the crafty Chad Brown. Here’s Johnny was a big second in the Juvenile Turf S. on this turf last time and gives Wesley Ward a prime player in this field.
Dynamic first out graduate Innovation Economy, stakes winning Euro import Pleuven, Wayne Catalano’s Rope A Dope and sharp allowance victor Tiger Bourbon, add to the depth of this well-matched group.
The Sunday feature at Gulfstream Park is the $100,000 Harlan’s holiday S., for three-year-olds and up going 1 1/16 miles on the main oval.
