Saturday’s $150,000 La Jolla H. (G3) is for three-year-old on the lawn and should bring back the top pair from the Oceanside S. – Enterprising and Argyle Cut. The former is a bay son of Elusive Quality who has won or placed in seven straight for trainer Tom Proctor. The three-time stakes winner showed his versatility last out with a come from behind triumph, but he often flashes good tactical speed and stalks the pace while close.

Argyle Cut has been first or second in five straight and a bit unlucky in missing by a bob in two straight stakes races. The Bill Morey trainee has improved a great deal as of late and must be included as a big late presence. 2013 Oak Tree Juvenile winner Diamond Bachelor, who had a nice prep on the main oval in a dash with older last time, could be getting back in form for Biancone. The Sunday feature is the $250,000 John C Mabbe S. (G2) and is expected for recently Gamely S. (G1) winner Miss Serendipity. Trained by Ron McAnally, the South American import finally broke through on U. S. soil last time and could be set for a big summer after acclimating to her surroundings. The multiple Group 1 heroine stays at the same trip and will have Brice Blanc riding once again.

Royal Heroine S. (G2) third Moulin de Mougin, Modesty S. (G3) winner I’m Already Sexy, Grade 3 winner Customer Base and recent Osunitas S. queen Cozze Up Lady, could be the main threats to the likely favorite.
