The nation's third-oldest racetrack will reignite one of its historic traditions when Fair Grounds Race Course opens the 2010-2011 Thoroughbred racing season in New Orleans.

The stakes program at Fair Grounds this season is among the strongest in the country and will once again feature a Derby Prep schedule that is arguably second to none for those horses looking to make a run at the Kentucky Derby and the Triple Crown in 2011.

The Derby Prep schedule at Fair Grounds culminates with the G2 $1,000,000 Louisiana Derby in March and we are giving away a chance to experience it in person to all TwinSpires Players just by wagering on Fair Grounds.

Players can earn an entry into the drawing for this amazing all-expense paid 2011 Louisiana Derby Weekend vacation for two in "Exotic" New Orealns for every $20 worth of exotic wagers (exacta, trifecta, superfecta and Super Hi-5) placed on Fair Grounds racing (using their TwinSpires wagering account) between Opening Day on Thursday, November 25th and Santa Super Saturday on December 18.

The 84-day 2010-2011 Thoroughbred Racing Season will run Thursdays to Mondays through February and Fridays to Mondays in March, except on Dec. 24 (Christmas Eve) and Dec. 25 (Christmas Day). Live racing also will be conducted on Dec. 22 and March 8 (Mardi Gras Day).

First post is set for 12:40 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST) daily, except on Opening Day (Nov. 25; first post is 11 a.m.), graded stakes days (Jan. 22, Feb. 19 and March 26; first post is 12:10 p.m.) and Starlight Racing nights (Dec. 17, Jan. 21, Feb. 18 and March 18; first post is 5 p.m.).
