Mr. Prospector tops Gulfstream Saturday

MR PROSPECTOR TOPS GULFSTREAM SATURDAY

A solid field is assembling in the Saturday standout at Gulfstream Park, the $100,000 Mr. Prospector S. (G3) at six furlongs. 2011 Vanderbilt (G1) star Sean Avery hasn't been as good following his biggest triumph, but the son of Cherokee Run gets a lot of respect today for trainer Allen Iwinski. A winner in his lone try here, the fleet six-year-old could be the horse to beat with his best showing.

Town Prize has never run a bad one, and the son of Speightstown makes just his second start of 2012 in this spot. The Mark Casse trainee has been working quite well leading up to this and wouldn't be a surprise in his second dirt try. He was a good third here in the Spectacular Bid S. as a juvenile. Little Drama, multiple stakes victor Indiano, King's Bishop (G1) second Fort Loudon, Rapid Transit S. winner Bernie the Maestro and recent Pelican S. winner Action Andy are the top draws for this sprint feature.
