Off Track Betting with VoiceBet and Twinspires
Off track betting has never been easier. Through your established wagering account at TwinSpires.com, VoiceBet® may be used to place bets on any horse race defined in the system. VoiceBet® is a new and innovative automated system for accessing telephone wagering accounts. The system allows account holders to use either voice commands from any telephone, or key commands from any touch tone telephone to check account balance, place bets, or review bets. With the aid of high quality digital voice instruction, VoiceBet® will guide you through the steps required to sign on to your account, place wagers, check for winning bets, and obtain your account balance.
VoiceBet® protects the privacy of your off track betting account by requiring you to provide your account number and PIN at the beginning of each telephone call. Once your account information is validated, the system states your account balance and begins accepting wagers. Each wager you request is played back to you for confirmation prior to being submitted to the wagering system.
Messages spoken by VoiceBet® are as brief as possible and may be interrupted at anytime by experienced callers. The system provides extended prompts for inexperienced callers who may need additional help navigating the system. At any time during the telephone call, you may issue commands to start over, review bets, or request operator assistance.
You can access the system by calling the telephone wagering number at 877-SPIRES-1 (1-877-774-7371), then select option 2 for the VoiceBet feature.
Off Track Betting with Voicebet – Call Flow
VoiceBet® begins each telephone call with a welcome message, an audio icon, and a prompt for an account number. You may either speak your account number as digits, or use the keys on the touch tone keypad to submit the account number. All touch tone key input is finished by touching the ‘#’ key.
For example, account number 712346 is submitted as:
|"seven, one, two, three, four, six"|
The account personal identification number, PIN, is requested. The PIN may be spoken as digits or keyed using the touch tone keypad. In public areas where others may hear you speak, use the touch tone keypad to keep the PIN private.
If the account PIN were 1234, it would be submitted as:
|"one, two, three, four"||1234#|
If the account number and PIN match, the system will sign on to your account and play back the current account balance followed by a prompt to provide a track and race. At this point in the call flow you may choose whether to speak your bets or key your bets using touch tone. In either mode, you may interrupt the prompting with your selections.
The message is: "What’s the track and race number, or say main menu for more options." The voice system at the heart of the telephone wagering line has been upgraded to include features such as current odds, results, and scratches accessible through the main menu of the members area. Say "Main Menu" to access these features. Click here to learn more about these features.
For keyed bets, each part of the bet is followed by the ‘#’ key.
For spoken bets, the track and race are collected, then the amount, bet type and runner(s). Spoken bet details must be in that order. The speech recognizer does not understand extra words like ‘umm’, uh’, or phases like ‘I mean’. It fully recognizes track names, race numbers, amounts, bet types and all runner combinations.
For example, the bet: Churchill Downs Race 1, $2 Win 1 is collected as:
|Prompt: "Enter track and race"|
|"Churchill Downs race one"||1#1#|
|Prompt: "What’s the bet"||"How much are you betting"|
|"two dollars to Win on the one"||2#|
"What kind of wager are you placing"
"What’s the number of the runner"
|Prompt: " Before I make it official, let’s confirm your bet: Churchill Downs, race one, two dollars to win on the one. Please say yes or no"|
|#1 confirms the bet |
#2 rejects the bet (you will be asked which part or parts are incorrect)
#3 to hear the bet again
|Prompt: "OK, I’ve placed the bet, the total bet cost is two dollars and you have $xxxx left in your account"|
Notice that when the bet is spoken, several bet parameters are collected together; track and race, then amount, bet type, and runners. Touch tone bets are collected one piece at a time. After confirming a bet, you may make another one.
|Prompt: "Say the next bet for Churchill Downs race one, or specify a new track and race"|
|"five dollars exacta box one, three, eight"||1# (Churchill Downs – must re-enter)|
1# (Race 1 – must re-enter)
5# ($5 wager)
51# (Exacta Box code)
1*3*8# (numbers 1,3,8)
VoiceBet® will also respond to global commands. Theses commands are available at anytime during the telephone call.

|Review your bets||"review bets"||**1#|
|Get a new Track and Race||"start over"||**#|
|Context sensitive help||"help"||*#|
|End this call||"good bye"||hang up telephone|
VoiceBet® uses the following modifiers for exotic bets:

|Wheel||"Exacta one, two WITH three, four WITH five, six|
|Key||"Trifecta KEY one, two, three, four" |
