Parlay Your Way to $25K – Final Round this Saturday!

Saturday, February 19 – Saturday, May 7

It’s time for Final Round Play in our $25,000 Derby Prep Parlay contest. Every player who has earned at least one share in Prep Round Play must place a $10 Win wager on a single horse in the Kentucky Derby in order to “vest” his or her shares in the $25,000 prize pool. If your $10 Win wager is a winner, all of the shares you have earned in Prep Round Play will be fully vested in the prize pool.

Remember, only your first $10 Win wager on the Kentucky Derby will count as your official contest wager, whether you place it during Advance Wagering on May 6 or on Kentucky Derby day, May 7. Check for scratches; in the event your horse scratches from the Derby, you may place a second $10 Win wager to replace your entry.

A total of 1,097 players earned 1,685 cumulative “unvested” shares in Prep Round Play. The time has come to let those shares ride on the Derby and see who is going to claim their share of our $25,000 prize pool. Please review the Final Round Play rules below and be sure to watch and wager on the 137th Kentucky Derby with TwinSpires.com this Saturday.

Please visit the Official Contest site for complete details, rules and information.

FINAL ROUND PLAY

  1. On Kentucky Derby Day – May 7, 2011 – all unvested shareholders must bet $10 to win on a single horse or entry in the Kentucky Derby. For the purposes of contest play, only your first $10 win wager on the Kentucky Derby will count as your Official Final Contest Wager regardless of when the wager is placed, on Kentucky Derby day or during Advance Wagering.
  2. If your Final Contest Wager is a winning wager, all of your accumulated “unvested” shares will become fully vested in the $25,000 Prize Pool.
  3. After the Kentucky Derby is declared official, the vested share value will be calculated by dividing $25,000 by all outstanding vested shares. The amount a player wins will equal the vested share value multiplied by how many vested shares a player has earned. The vested share value will depend largely upon which horse wins the Kentucky Derby and how many contest players have placed their Final Contest Wager on that horse.

For example, if a total of 500 unvested shares are riding on Dialed In and he wins the Kentucky Derby, the vested share value will be $50 each. If 100 unvested shares are riding on Uncle Mo and he wins the Kentucky Derby, the vested share value will be $250 each. If 2 unvested shares are riding on Animal Kingdom and he wins the Derby, the vested share value will be $12,500 each. In the event that no shares are invested on the winning horse, all 1,685 unvested shares will be considered fully vested in the prize pool and the vested share value will be exactly $14.84.
