St Leger Festival 2012
Looking for tradition? First run in 1776, the St Leger at Doncaster is the oldest Classic, the longest at 1m6f and the final leg of British Racing's Triple Crown - last claimed in 1970 by Nijinsky. The great race is now the Saturday centrepiece of a high-class, four-day festival that's one of the highlights of the Flat racing season. Other features include the Park Hill Stakes for fillies on Ladies' Day (Thursday), the Doncaster Cup (Friday) and the Portland Handicap (Saturday).

St Leger Festival Highlights:
- Wednesday, Sept. 12th - Day one of the St.Leger festival features the listed Scarborough Stakes, a competitive sprint.
- Thursday, Sept. 13th - Day Two at Doncaster showcases the fillies and mares Group 2 Park Hill Stakes.
- Friday, Sept. 14th - Once again the stayers come to the forefront in the Group 2 Doncaster Cup, which is the final leg of the Stayers Triple Crown
- Saturday,Sept. 15th - The final classic of the season, the Ladbrokes St. Leger sees the finest three year old stayers come to the forefront.
