TURF CUP LEADS THE WAY AT HOLLYWOOD

Trainer Neil Drysdale will have a pair of tough ones in the feature at Hollywood on Saturday, the $250,000 Hollywood Turf Cup S. (G1). Multiple Grade 2 victor Bourbon Bay has been among the top marathoners on the West Coast for the past two seasons and will be tough with his best in this one. The son of Sligo Bay didn’t fire at short odds in the Northern Dancer S. (Can-G1) at Woodbine last out, but has placed in four of five tries on this lawn and will be in the hunt turning for home.

Grade 1 queen Miss Match hasn’t been embarrassed by the boys on a few occasions and could find the sledding a bit easier here after facing the top fillies and mares in training at Churchill last out. The mare loves a route of ground and would not be a total surprise in here, giving Drysdale a nice one-two punch.

Chilean Group 1 winner Ashtar was a solid fourth in the Clement Hirsch (G1) in preparation of this and could be dangerous at a fair number. Surging California Cup winner Norvsky, Sunset H. (G3) runner-up Falcon Rock and Goldwaki, unplaced in two tries on U. S. soil to date, are also signed on for this 1 ½ miles contest.

The Sunday feature at Hollywood Park is the $100,000 Moccasin S. for juvenile fillies.
