Hollywood Park will play host to the $250,000 Vanity S. (G1) on Saturday, a nine-furlong test on the Cushion oval for fillies and mares. Trained Jerry Hollendorfer has been a big presence on the stakes scene at this meeting, and will have a pair in this affair. Grade 2 queen Lady of Fifty has run huge in a pair of races on this main oval and could be the one to beat coming off a fine second in the Everett H. (G2) in advance of this. Stable companion Esentepe is a bit less accomplished on this soil, but she comes off the easiest of allowance wins on this surface and drilled a bullet most recently, signaling her readiness.
Everett H. (G2) upsetter Open Water put in arguably her best lifetime race and shouldn’t be ignored in this spot. Grade 2 vixen More Chocolate, the Bob Baffert duo of Candrea and Maker of Breaker, Grade 1-placed Byrama, as well as sensational allowance winner Royal Tiger, will all be lining up in this spot.
Saturday will also play host to the $100,000 Cinderella S. and $100,000 Willard L. Proctor Memorial S, both for the juveniles.
