WOLFSON SADDLES A PAIR IN SPRINT CHAMPIONSHIP
Carry Back S. (G2) star Coffee Boy will be among the top choices in the $150,000 Gulfstream Park Sprint Championship (G2) this Saturday. Trained by Marty Wolfson, the son of Yonaguska is unraced since the summer but has been working swiftly, including scoring a bullet half-mile on Sunday. His best will make him tough.
Also from the Wolfson barn is Gaucho, who had his three-race win streak snapped when second at Calder last out. This son of Ghostzapper has risen with excellent success and could be sitting on a big one. The probable favorite in this one is Soaring Empire, who defeated a top field in the Hal’s Hope H. (G3) most recently. The four-year-old son of Empire Maker will be doing his best work in the stretch.
Sunday’s $150,000 Hurricane Bertie S. (G3) for fillies and mares is likely to include recent Sugar Swirl (G3) queen Tar Heel Mom, and the Wolfson duo of Bronx City Girl and Jehan.
