6   Hoppertunity 7/2   Grade 1 victor from the Baffert barn will make his second run since February and we think he will be up to a peak performance in this race. Son of Any Given Saturday has a lot of class, and while his third in the Foster (G1) was not his best, he could have needed the outing and also could thrive with the added ground to work with in this one. Four-year-old bay dons a smart 6-2-2-1 mark at this distance, draws well and also might get a contested pace to chase in the lane with money rider Martin Garcia in the silks.
9   Catch a Flight 5/2   Talented sort from the Mandella barn has won three of his last four since coming to the U. S. and could be the 'now' horse in the field. Five-year-old bay was a sharp winner of the Californian last time and was third at this trip in the Big Cap (G1), so the extra furlong could aid him as much as any in the field for a trainer who continues to have a fine meeting here. Gary Stevens will likely track the pace from the second or third flight before asking in the lane. Big shot.
8   Moreno 7/2   Grade 1 winner from the barn of Eric Guillot was a big second in the Californian (G2) last time when attending a fast pace and staying on to the wire, and he will likely be the one to run down turning for home. Five-year-old son of Ghostzapper is close to $3 million in earnings and often brings his best to this type of race, as all four of his races this season have been very good. Bay gelding draws outside the other speed so might just sit on his flank before taking the lead in the lane. Logical -- Cornelio comes out to ride.
