Ed joined Churchill Downs Inc. following nine years as a writer and editor with Thoroughbred Times. Ed will serve as “Captain” of the Players’ Pool for all major events including Breeders’ Cup, Kentucky Derby, Belmont Stakes and any other major multi-day carryover pools.
Michael Beychok – Michael is a lifelong horse racing enthusiast who reached the pinnacle of the sport as a horseplayer when winning the 2011 National Handicapping Championship in Las Vegas after qualifying on TwinSpires.com. His prizes included $1-million and an Eclipse Award. He is a horse owner and breeder who works in the direct mail business.
Patrick McGoey – Patrick McGoey has won the Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge in consecutive years and was on the December 8, 2012 Players’ Pool team that scooped the Pick 6 at Aqueduct. The New Orleans attorney successfully tabbed Orb as this year’s Kentucky Derby winner.
