Del Mar Thoroughbred Club’s summer meet opens for racing this Thursday, July 16 with a highly anticipated return to dirt racing on the main track. The meet features 40 days of live racing, and concludes on Monday, September 7.
After opening week, Del Mar races on a Wednesday through Sunday schedule with a first post time of 2 p.m. Pacific, with the exception of Fridays, which get underway at 4 p.m. PT.
The summer meet is guaranteed to attract top quality horses, jockeys and trainers from around the country. Highlights include: the Eddie Read Stakes (G1) this Saturday, the Bing Crosby Stakes (G1) on July 26, the Del Mar Oaks (G1) on August 15, and the Pacific Classic (G1) on August 22.
