Honey Fox Tops Gulfstream Saturday
The Saturday spotlight at Gulfstream Park will be on fillies and mares going a mile on the lawn in the $150,000 Honey Fox S. (G2). Channel Lady was a nice winner of the Suwanee River H. (G3) in her most recent outing and looms a major player in here for conditioner Todd Pletcher. The daughter of English Channel has run first or second in six straight following an unplaced showing in her debut race, and she has the speed to be involved from the start in this affair.
The multiple Grade 2-winning Centre Court could use this as her 2013 and four-year-old debut. The Rusty Arnold trainee was a superb performer last campaign and has been firing bullets in the morning to prepare for this race. Grade 1 queen Hooh Why, stakes winner Julie’s Love from the barn of Graham Motion, and Marshua River (G3) third Leading Astray, could be the main danger to the likely favorite.
Sunday will play host to the $150,000 Inside Information S. (G2) on the main oval, for fillies and mares running seven furlongs. Hurricane Berite S. (G3) queen Golden Mystery, Grade 2 heroine Disposablepleasure, who is set for her four-year-old debut, Grade 1 victress Emma’s Encore, Grade 3 winner R Holiday Mood and recent stakes winner Spectacular Sky, a winner in four of her last five, could make this a fine betting race.
