8   Holmybeer Wachthis 7/2   Chestnut is first on BRIS Prime Power and Back Speed and comes off a sixth place finish against open company on a sloppy track here last month in an effort that followed two straight second place finishes. Son of Lone Star Sky is a half brother to eight winners and is trained by Danny Pish who wins with 17% of his runners in maiden claiming events and who has won with 21% of his starters since the beginning of last year. Gelding may be best running from off the pace with Roman Chapa retaining the mount.
6   Sir Soxs 3/1   Gelding finished a distant third ahead of the top selection on the slop in his latest and has now recorded seven straight in the money finishes. Son of Lydgate filled the third spot in all three of his tries at Fair Grounds and can be a contender from off the pace but trainer Ronald Venable wins with just 3% of his runners in maiden claimers and four-year-old always seems to find one or two better.
7   Professor Trek 4/1   Son of Student Council failed in his one previous start on regular dirt but that was on a sloppy surface at Churchill and comes off an unplaced effort against better here on grass last month over a mile after setting the early fractions while earning top ranking on BRIS Speed Last Race and Early Pace Last Race. Trainer Jeff Engler wins with 13% of his maiden claimers and has won with 14% of his runners since the start of 2013 and, with some early speed, gelding can be prominent from the start with Chris Landeros aboard.

7   Sir Genghis 7/2   Newcomer by good first out sire Tale of the Cat is out of a mare by Unbridled's Song and will debut for trainer Bret Calhoun who wins with 21% of his first time starters. Dark bay cost $52K as a yearling and works include a five furlong move in 1:00 2/5 from the gate last month for Calhoun who wins with 18% of his runners on turf and who has won with 27% of his starters this meet. Colt may be ready for a winning effort at first asking under Rosie Napravnik who won with 20% of her mounts for the barn in the last two months.
12   Visons and Dreams 5/1   $50K purchase last year comes off a fourth place finish at this level over six furlongs on the main track here in mid-December and is a half brother to five winners including two on grass. Son of promising young sire Sightseeing posted a five furlong work in 1:00 since his first start for trainer Tom Amoss who wins with 31% of his second time starters and with 23% going from dirt to turf. Colt can be closing from off the pace under Miguel Mena who won with one of his last six rides for the barn.
6   B and B's Pulpit 4/1   Son of 11% grass sire Brahms is out of a mare by Pulpit whose offspring win 13% of their starts on turf and earned top ranking on BRIS Late Pace Last Race when finishing a distant second on the main track here last month. Three-year-old is also first on Prime Power and Average Class Last3 and is trained by Merrill Scherer who wins with 10% of his runners first time on turf and who has won with 15% of his starters at this meet. Dark bay can be stalking the early leaders in his first start on turf with Brian Hernandez retaining the mount.
9   Rivers Antrim 12/1   Three-year-old is a half brother to one winner on grass and comes off a second place finish in his debut on the main track here last month after being involved from the start against easier. 6   He Be Somethin 3/1   Kellyn Gorder pupil ran into a good one on this oval last time and we like this one to bounce back and win this race. Gelded son of Flatter was a nice maiden winner on the all weather at Keeneland three back and ran well in advance of this before being outrun in the lane. This outfit is always tough at this venue and we think the dark bay stalks and runs by late.
5   Night Warden 6/1   Unknown synthetic quantity has put in a trio of good ones in a row on the dirt at Mountaineer and will be a player from the opening bell he takes to the Polytrack today. Joe Woodard trainee has never been better and is bred to handle all ovals, so we will include the four-year-old for a top barn which is at 27% with shippers and winners last time out. Pompell will ride and have the win contender close up early on.
2   Hondo Wando 5/1   Prime Power leader from the Leonard barn has been especially consistent in his last six outings and surely gets a look in this spot. Six-year-old son of Wando is a winner on this oval from two tries and has a versatile running style to be well placed early on with Dean Sarvis in the irons. Chestnut has earned back to back best Speed numbers in his lifetime and could throw in another good effort from a good post.
4   Rosee Is Cozee 5/2   Daughter of Cozzene comes off a daylight maiden score on this main oval and will fgace the boys in an aggressive move by conditioner Luis Jurado, 26% at this meeting. Five-year-old mare is best on the All Weather it seems and she lands in a fairly winnable spot for an 18% allowance conditioner, who puts Orm back in thew saddle. We like this one some and expect her to be finishing well in the lane.

13   G's Flyer 3/1   BRIS Prime Power selection weakened after showing some early run in his latest when tried against better in his first start since breaking his maiden in his debut leading all-the-way in late November. Trainer Keith Desormeaux wins with 30% of his runners dropping two classes and with 17% of his starters in claiming races and gelding is also first on Back Speed and Current Class and can be a factor from the start with Kerwin Clark in the saddle.
3   Bad Asset 9/2   Dark bay comes off a fourth place finish after a wide trip here last month at this level and distance in his first start for trainer Ron Faucheux. Son of American Tribute has won one of his six lifetime starts and Faucheux wins with 34% of his starters in claiming races and has won with 24% of his runners this meet and four-year-old may show more here starting from a better post under Richard Eramia who won with 23% of his mounts for the barn in the last 60 days.
5   Eyejaykay 7/2   Four-year-old earned top ranking on BRIS Late Pace Last Race when unplaced against better over six furlongs here in late December and has won one of his seven lifetime starts. Son of Lion Tamer will make his second start for trainer Neil Pessin who has won with two of his thirteen starters at this meet and gelding can be a contender running late with Florent Geroux in the irons.
8   Gold Nation 6/1   Dark bay showed speed before weakening to finish fifth at this level and distance in his latest here last month and has hit the board in one of his three starts at Fair Grounds. Trainer Debert Cuevas won with 5% of his starters since the beginning of 2013 and son of Touch Gold may be among the fastest from the gate and can be in the early mix with Eddie Martin riding.

5   Belle Natalie 7/2   Four-year-old daughter of First Defence ranks 2nd in Prime Power and is a nice fit in this field for a barn at 29% going turf to All Weather. Bay lass from the Gorder barn placed in both prior races here in sprints and will get a preferred trip today from a good post to stalk the pace as she does. Kentucky-bred will be guided by Dean Sarvis and has faced better than most of these. Live one we think.
10   Fashion City 3/1   Likely one to beat from the barn of Anthony Hamilton has run well in a pair of outings since joining this barn, including a nice second here last out, and even slight improvement might be all that this miss needs in order to get the job done on this occasion. Four-year-old filly by Bernardini is the second foal out of this winning dam and finished clear of third while favored last time in a similar spot in preparation of this. Perry Outzs picks up the ride.
4   The Lady Scored 8/1   Sneaky pace player led until midstretch before finishing third last time and could be very dangerous with a forward move for conditioner Emile Fojan. Chestnut filly by Even the Score is kin to a winner from one to race, and should have gotten a lot out of that first run in advance of this. Low profile barn will put Contreras in the irons and could be on the lead once again in this affair.
