McGOEY MAGIC TOUCHES TWINSPIRES PLAYER’S POOL
Lexington, Ky. (Saturday, December 8) – Fresh off his second consecutive Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge victory, Patrick McGoey helped TwinSpires.com players have a big victory of their own, as he was one of two handicapping champions that were part of the Player’s Pool team that scooped the Pick 6 on Saturday at Aqueduct.
Reigning National Handicapping Champion Michael Beychok and Brisnet.com Director of Marketing Ed DeRosa completed the team, which wagered $21,704 on the sequence that returned $271,487: $86,496 for each of three perfect tickets plus $169 for each of 71 consolation (5/6) payoffs.
This was McGoey’s first Players’ Pool as panelist, but he is no stranger to big scores-having won $270,600 in the 2011 Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge and $255,341 when defending his crown this year. Both he and Beychok will participate in the National Handicapping Championship next month in Las Vegas.
"Access to the handicapping insights of Michael Beychok and Ed DeRosa, a big bankroll, and a little bit of luck makes the TwinSpires.com Player’s Pool a must play," McGoey said. "I can’t wait to help TwinSpires.com players take down another Pick 6."
There was a $76,369 carryover going into the Saturday Pick 6, and bettors wagered an additional $321,303, meaning there was $317,346 available to players after takeout, and the TwinSpires.com Player’s Pool won 85.5% of that available money.
The TwinSpires Player’s Pool goes after the top carryover and guaranteed pools in racing.
