OAKS WINNER TO RETURN IN MOTHER GOOSE
Kentucky Oaks (G1) heroine Plum Pretty will make her first run since her fine win in the Bluegrass State to lead the field in Saturday’s $250,000 Mother Goose S. (G1) at Belmont. Trained by Bob Baffert, the rapidly improving daughter of Medaglia d’Oro has really proved her worth since switching to the dirt and will be tough with her best in this affair.
Joyful Victory finished fifth as the Oaks favorite but could easily turn the tables in this one for Larry Jones. The mega-talented daughter of Tapit opened eyes with a pair of romps at Oaklawn this spring, and she didn’t have the best of trips at Churchill when buried on the rail most recently. She would be no surprise. Trainer Todd Pletcher will send out Black-Eyed Susan S. (G2) second Buster’s Ready, who has come a long way since breaking her maiden for a $50,000 tag. Recent allowance victress Alseera, well-bred Pimlico allowance romper Marion Ravenwood and Grade 3 queen Summer Soiree are also likely for this one.
The other graded affair on Saturday is the $150,000 New York H. (G2), for fillies and mares going 10 furlongs on the lawn.
