The College Football Playoff is an annual four-team postseason tournament to determine the top NCAA Division I team in the nation. The four participating teams are chosen by a 13-person selection committee that examines performance, strength of schedule and head-to-head results. The CFP, as it’s better known, was introduced in 2014 to replace the Bowl Championship Series, which relied heavily on polls and computer rankings.
