Greyhound Stakes Races Coming Up This Week
It starts on Monday at Mardi Gras. Both the early and late cards have Round 3 races in the American Greyhound Derby Stakes and there are some outstanding greyhounds running today. This afternoon's races are the 8th and the 9th.
In Race 8, I'm wondering if #3 Fuzzy's Old Fox, my favorite in the last round, can get in gear and beat #2 Santa's Clifton.
In Race 9, SNJ Porter, who missed by half a length last time out, should win if he can regain his winning form. I expect #8 TMC Aces High to do everything he can to stop him though and there are some other good closers in this race.
The action continues on the late card.
In Race 1, one of my favorite greyhounds, #4 Mom's Hellion, coming off a 4 and 1/2 length win, faces off against #7 Smokey Joe, who's coming off an 8 length win with a 37.96 in his last race. And then there's #8 Roc A By Spinoff with a 37.99 in his last race. Talk about a speed battle!
In Race 2, I like #6 HL's Dale. He had good speed in his last race and if he can catch the break, he can win again. #5 Kelso's Charlene, should be chasing him. Watch out for #1 GoodLuckSterling, if he's in form. He loves the inside and he has it.
On Wednesday, don't miss the $60K Team Survivor at Bluffs Run. Also on Wednesday, catch Southland Park's Hound Madness Stakes Round 3 Western Region. As usual, all of the stakes will be available on Bet America with free programs to make handicapping easier.
