James J Patton Silver Cup Round 2 at Orange Park Monday April 1st

The players are the same, but the race makeups will be different, as the dogs from Round 1 compete again in this series.

The action starts in the 4th race where the tenacious winner of one of Round 1's races, Scortch McBones will have the 2 box. He and Tony Dinozzo PC provided one of the most thrilling races in the stakes when they battled for first all the way to the wire, where McBones just would NOT be denied and won by less than a length. We'll see if he can prevail again and I think he will over a rather weak field. Mind you, the 7 and the 8 have flashed speed in the past, so he might have more competition than it looks like at first glance.

In race 5, #8 Backtalk, looks tough.  #3 GS Jersey was second in his last and could hit the board in this one too. I don't think you can ever count out #6 MRL Outlaw Billy, even if he is in one of the worst post positions in sprints at OP.

In race 7, #7 TY Kay Willing's last line is "Dangerously lurking." I think she could do more than lurk in this race. And if #5 Atascocita Hoot can get his groove back, he could surprise. #6 Easi's Butterball could be there at the wire also.

In the 9th race, I like #1 AMF Rap Singer in exotics with #7 Safe At Home and #8 Pat C Abash.

In the 10th race, #5 SNJ Black Porter, who burned up the track in his last race with a 9 1/2 length win, could repeat here. Who'll be chasing him is harder to figure out, but #1 Tony Dinozzo PC will certainly be in there trying, as he always is. And #3 D'Bull's Tyvek might be part of the exotics too.

In the 11th race, #3 Warped has had 3 wins in a row and, evidently, the chartwriter, who has him at 10-1, thinks that he won't make it four. I think he can win this one, although he has some competition in #5 Pat C Stonewall and #1 WW Fancy Floyd.

The 12th and final race of round 2 is really hard to handicap. If pressed, I'd have to say that my money would be on #4 Kiowa Jill Vick, #5 Amazing Run and #7 WW Double Space.

Every one of these races promises to be highly contested, so get your free program from Bet America and play your favorites here.
