Pick 6 Betting Preview: Santa Anita $156,250 Carryover - October 6, 2013

October 6th, 2013

A pick-6 carryover of over $156,000 awaits bettors on Sunday at Santa Anita, which starts in race four; let's take a brief look at each of the six races.

The sequence starts off with state-bred maiden special weight two-year-olds and Even to the Moon is going to be hard to beat with another move forward. Trainer Walther Solis puts the blinkers on and jockey Rafael Bejarano stays around for the ride. Others to consider are Grazenette and Electric Eddie.

My Secret Affair and Snuggley Bear are the ones to beat in race five, a maiden special weight race on the downhill turf course. Silver Torch ran behind a couple of next out winners in his debut back in March and will be right there at the finish too. Gravity Force and Toowindytohaulrox are the long shots.

Race six, a claiming race for three-year-old fillies, is bit of a head scratcher. Hollanita fits as does Daddy's Song, Julio's Gold and Acute.

The back half of the pick-6 starts with the second of the stakes races on the card, the $100,000 Surfer Girl for two-year-old fillies. Clenor is 6-5 on the morning line and likely to go off at even money or less. She has been nothing but spectacular in her two U.S. starts and should get the job done as the favorite. If you are so inclined to play against her; Miss Machiavelli, Tiz the Key and Colonel Joan are the ones to use.

In race six, Wild Marini and Whatsallthedrama look best, but must navigate the two inside posts. Susans Express ran very well in her debut at Del Mar in August and is one to think about on the surface switch. Golden Celestial runs for top connections, is 8-1 on the morning line and that may be an overlay.

The finale is a maiden special weight race on the turf for three-year-olds and upward with a field of 12. Not an easy way to end the card, but focus on Mr Lemon Tree, Accomplish, Brave Act, Thunder Cole and Empty Headed.
