Pick 6 Betting Preview: Santa Anita $91,551 Carryover, October 13, 2013
There is a pick-6 carryover of just over $90,000 at the Great Race Place on Sunday with the wagering kicking off in race four, a starter allowance for fillies and mares down the hill.
Calameera and Horsesanddivorces are second and third on the morning line and the two to beat. Calameera ran well on her first start on turf in August while Horsesanddivorces has a start down the hill. Joeandbetty'sbaby is the morning line favorite, but will need a fast pace up front to get the job done. She is the only entrant in the field with a win over the course.
Race five is a maiden special weight race for two-year-old fillies and the Bob Baffert filly Contrastic looks like a single. The Distorted Humor filly has been blazing up the track in the mornings and looks the part. Wild Caroline, Costamar and Salsita are the ones with experience and can upset the favorite.
Back on the hill for race six, a maiden special weight race for fillies and mares. Lake Maracaibo is becoming a career maiden, but may have finally found a field she can beat. The thing is, if it's not her, it's anyone of the 11.
In race seven it's best to use Ol' Steely Blue, Half Dome Dude and Bertran Hill.
Journey On has won two of her first three career starts and will be favored once again to win race eight, a state-bred allowance race for fillies and mares on the turf. Upset chances go to Our Pure Creation, Tiz a Classy Lass and Toomanytomatoes.
The finale is a maiden claiming race going seven furlongs on the main track with a full field of 14. Warren's Cliff S. is the morning line favorite in her 10th career start. She looks good over Full's Kris S., Slight Edge, Kingsbury, Ice Cream Truck and Grant.
Not an easy way to end the card and perhaps there will be another huge carryover when on the special Monday card.
First post on Sunday is 4:00 pm ET with race four going to post at 5:37.
