Race Preview - Palm Beach - Gallagher-Kinnaird Puppy Stakes Round 3 - Wednesday 0821
This exciting series for young greyhounds continues on Wednesday, August 21st in races 10, 12, 14 and 15. The 16 pups who finish first in points will go on to the semifinals on Monday, August 26th.
In Race 10, two sub 30 second times in his last two races and two wins by good margins might be the first thing you notice about 6-Relativity. Or it might be the 5 out of 11 for the exacta. This guy just hangs tough on the rail, but will he get the rail this time out from Palm Beach's 6 box, notorious for foiling the best laid plans of mutts and men?
1-TF Ashley has the class to contend with Relativity. 3-Superior Boogie has the percentages and a couple of fast times in B and C. 8-CRT Xadrian was close last time out from the 8 box and might surprise from there again at 15-1. Very contentious race and one worth watching.
Race 12 has a two time winner in the qualifying races, 7-Vagrant, looking for win number three. Right where she wants to be, so this Rader pup may be able to do it. 8-Superior Dune is also fond of the outside and might just travel with the 7.
Race 14 features 5-Rob Gronkowski, a crowd favorite every time he races. He was a beaten favorite last time out from the same box he's in today. Six out of nine for the exacta makes him a big threat. Don't be surprised if 7-Boom's Big Shot or 8-Cash Seeker surprise at a big price. And I never count out 1-Daphne Zuniga, a very tenacious contender.
Race 15 favorite 5-Ethereal Elation is working on win number three and doesn't seem to care what box she's in, as long as she can win by multiple lengths. Even blocking her didn't slow her down in her last. Can't count her out but the price won't be a big one. 7-Yahoo Diablo might give her a run for her money, if he can get around that first turn. His turn of speed is awesome and he doesn't usually have a problem with the turn, except for his last race.
