Hidethegoodstuff's Not So Hidden Talent
We have tackled the first three races of the late pick-4 on Saturday at Santa Anita, but it's not a pick-4 without the last race so lets take a look.
The finale is a maiden special weight race for California-bred or sired three-year-old fillies and drew a field of 12. The morning line favorite is Hidethegoodstuff, who is making his second career start after finished second in his debut at this level on New Year's Day. The Jerry Hollendorfer-trained filly may be a single on many tickets. Also coming out of that race are Mark of a Gem, fourth, Atta Girl Alma, fifth, and Rockin Cowgirl, sixth. Rockin Cowgirl set the pace that day and should be able to hold the lead longer on Saturday.
New faces in the race are Bab's Rules, Sweet Irish Lass, Ski's Copper Penny, Hail Mary, Bikini Bottom and Warren's Dixi Bell.
Hail Mary, Bikini Bottom and Warren's Dixi Bell look best of the debuters. There are no bullets on the work tab for Hail Mary or Warren's Dixi Bell, but they appear to have been working well in the mornings. Bikini Bottom has some typical Doug O'Neill workouts for a first-time-starter and could show speed with jockey Kevin Krigger aboard.
If the favorite doesn't win, this race could be the pick-4 separator.
