Race Preview-Tioga Downs-Miracle Mile-$16,000 - Friday 0823
The 6th race is the feature race on Friday night's program at Tioga Downs. Fillies and mares compete for a purse of $16,000.
4-Hot List with a trainer change to Ron Burke and very good speed and class figures in her last race looks like a standout here. Having top driver Jim Marohn Jr. doesn't hurt either. He and Burke have almost 40% for wins together and this could be another one for them.
5-Fiesta Camcun with Corey Braden has visited the winner's circle at this level before at Tioga. Look for Braden to get her out early, because she wins on the lead. Definitely one for the exotics.
3-Fair Voltage, a Village Jolt-Artsplace mare, has the very capable Greg Merton, a driver with a positive ROI for wins, and has had four wins at Tioga and two places. Past speed and class are close to par for this race, so could be good for exotics or even a surprise win. I've learned never to count out Merton on a live horse.
7-Clearview Hanover has her work cut out for her from the outside post. Big change from Yonkers and Pocono to Tioga, so much may depend on whether she likes the track.
6-Little Santamonica has Aaron Byron, one of the Tioga drivers with a positive ROI for wins, in the bike. She's had four track changes since she was last at Tioga, but won here back then in a slightly lower class race. She might be one for the exotics at this level.
1-Albanian Era, one of the longshots at 12-1, is moving up in class and has never shown the kind of speed figures it would take to win this one. Post position helps, but probably not enough.
2-Highly Thought Of, also at 12-1, is also moving up in class and hasn't raced at this level before.
8-Rub Thing has a very poor post position for a pace and is zero for five for wins at Tioga. She did not run at this level at Tioga or at Yonkers, which makes me wonder why she's at 6-1 here.
Good racing luck and safe trips to all the horses and drivers in tonight's race. Remember to watch and wager on Bet America where all bonus tracks pay rewards.
