Although more well-known horses take to the turf at Belmont in the Stars and Stripes Festival, horseplayer should also take a long look at the races at Arlington Park on Saturday.

Grade 3 Stars and Stripes

The Pizza Man won the Stars and Stripes in both 2014 and 2015. He came right back at Arlington Park to win the American St. Leger in 2014. In 2015, The Pizza Man won the Arlington Million. There's no word as to when The Pizza Man runs next. In his last race, he finished fourth to Oak Brook in the Black Tie Affair Handicap at Arlington.

Oak Brook could show up in the Stars and Stripes this Saturday.

Grade 3 American Derby

2015 American Derby winner World Approval won the 2016 United Nations at Monmouth Park. The United Nations is one of the most prestigious grass races of the year. In 2017, World Approval won the Grade 2 Dixie on Preakness Stakes Day. On Belmont Stakes Day, he finished off the board as one of the favorites in the Manhattan Handicap. Mark Casse is likely to saddle the son of Northern Afleet in 1 or 2 more preps before a start in the Breeders' Cup.

Grade 3 Arlington Handicap

Finnegan's Wake won the Arlington Handicap in 2014. Although he finished 10th in the Breeders' Cup Turf that year, he bounced back 26 days later to win the Grade 2 Hollywood Turf Cup at Del Mar. He went on to win the Grade 2 San Gabriel, and Grade 2 San Marcos before his biggest win, the Grade 1 Woodford Reserve at Churchill Down on Kentucky Derby Day.

If Oak Brook decides to go in the Arlington Handicap instead of the Stars and Stripes, maybe he becomes the next great star to emerge from the race.

Grade 3 Modesty Handicap

Zipessa is one of the probables for the Grade 3 Modesty Handicap. Zipessa finished third to Sea Calisi and Al's Gal in the 2016 Beverly D. Handicap. Later last year, she finished fifth in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf.

If she shows up this Saturday in the Modesty, she could go for another try in the Beverly D. Another run in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf also isn't out of the question.
