Australia Racing Preview for 1/28/2014

January 28th, 2014

Just a nice standard mid-week meet at Geelong today and we will be looking to find some money making bets as it’s a big weekend coming up, starting at Moonee Valley on Friday night and then straight into Saturday at Caulfield with some graded stakes racing.

So let’s take a look at 3 of the races and see if we cannot start building that bank to wager with.

GEELONG – AUS A

RACE 5 - RITCHIE BROTHERS AUCTIONS SHOWCASE HANDICAP 1100m $30,000 (AUS)

I think there are only two main chances in this race, NOT A LLAMA and MELTING MOMENT. As I write this I am starting to lean slightly to NOT A LLAMA due to her gate. Off a solid debut win in moderate time she ran a terrific race at Flemington having just her 2nd start. The 1100m should be perfect for her in this field. Like the fact that MELTING MOMENT is back to 1100m. Her only win this prep was over 1000m. Her other efforts (in town) at 1400m have been very sound. FISHTALE has won her past two fresh runs off a spell and she is right on the money getting the claim. MITFORD SISTER is next best from a good draw.

SELECTIONS – NOT A LLAMA / MELTING MOMENT / FISHTALE

RACE 6 - VIATEK SHOWCASE HANDICAP 1500m $30,000 (AUS)

This is actually a pretty tough race, I can honestly say only 2-3 cannot win. BERRICHON can use gate 2 and get a good run in transit. She ran well in a similar race last time. WHISPERING MISS can also be on speed and her form is currently pretty good. INKJET SPRINTER has the winning feeling now. He can measure up to a 0-64. FAITH 'N' BELIEF ran well in one of these last start from a wide gate. BERNICATTI gets one more go with winkers on to see if he can improve his results.

SELECTIONS –  BERRICHON / WHISPERING MISS / FAITH ‘N’ BELIEF

RACE 7 – HYLAND RACE COLOURS SHOWCASE HANDICAP 1700m $30,000 (AUS)

CAPALBIO gets another go after not having the best of luck at Caulfield 2nd up. Like her drawing away from the inside this time. BUNCHLOCH to me looked pretty unlucky at Werribee and has obviously come back well this time in.  STROEMSKY continues to race well for the Kent stable, so you have to respect them here. He overcame a fair bit traffic to win last time, which is always a good sign. On top of that effort, the two he defeated have run well since, especially To Infinity. COMMEMORATE has drawn out but no shock to see him go forward and give a good sight again. TAMPERE is next best.

SELECTIONS – CAPALBIO / COMMEMERATE / BUNLOCH
