Mid-week city racing is back at its home out at Sandown, so let’s take a look at a few of the races out there and start building the bank for the weekend coming with winning wagers.

SANDOWN LAKESIDE – AUS A

Race 3 - ALANNAH HILL PLATE 1400m $35,000 (AUS)

Like the way ITSMYCALL is going for her new stable. Forget her last run when she went back from her wide draw. She actually found the line quite well. Giving SINHALA one more go. Her efforts around 1000 and 1200m have been ok. Last time she raced too keenly at the mile. MAGIC CURVES will appreciate less weight and the box seat. RAYHAN will be running on like she always does. MANHATTAN MAID is a hope too. Thought one more for GODSPIEL but I'm a fan.

SELECTIONS – ITSMYCALL / SINHALA / MAGIC CURVES

RACE 5 - CHAMPAGNE POMMERY HANDICAP 1200m $35,000 (AUS)

NELL FANTASIA is the one to beat from gate 1. She ran well at Mornington after a 6 week break coming back to 1000m. Her 1300m win was impressive so getting out to the 1200m is going to be the key. Not sure how to line CHELSEA HOTEL up but she's struck just an average Melbourne race. DASILVA disappointed last time but noted she did lose a shoe in running. It's hard to fault her previous form. SET TO STAR can sprint well fresh. CLINKING may be a wet track lover but she goes in. PINK ZINK might appreciate the distance of the 1200m.

SELECTIONS – NELLA FANTASIA / DASILVA / PINK ZINK

RACE 7 - SCHWEPPES HANDICAP 1200m $35,000 (AUS)

Expecting TURQUOISE KING to graduate from his easy BM 64 win to winning this BM 70. His only start around here was his impressive maiden win. 1st uppers MOST HUSBANDS and SKAWBOARD PRESSURE can feature if ready. The former had no luck 1st up last prep while the latter has some good 1200m efforts on dry ground to his credit. THE BOWLER and MIGHTY LIKE were good at Mornington. CAHIER has a chance. LORD DA VINCI looks smart but he may need further now.

SELECTIONS – TURQUOISE KING / SKAWBOARD PRESSURE / THE BOWLER
