BC Internationals: Mile contender Esoterique

We continue our series of international blogs on the 2015 Breeders' Cup contenders with Esoterique, one of Andre Fabre's dynamic duo in the Mile (G1).
During her sophomore campaign in 2013, the well-bred daughter of Danehill Dancer captured the Prix Vanteaux (G3) and just missed to Flotilla in the French 1000 Guineas (G1). Esoterique earned her first Group 1 laurel in the 2014 Prix Rothschild (G1), and has doubled that tally this season as a five-year-old.
Her 2015 opened with a troubled third in the Prix du Muguet (G2) to Bawina (who's cross-entered to the Mile but listed the Filly & Mare Turf [G1] as her first preference):
Esoterique took on males in the Queen Anne (G1) at Royal Ascot (click link for replay) and finished second to the rampaging Solow, who's since extended his winning streak to nine.
Shortening up from a mile to 6 1/2 furlongs for the Prix Maurice de Gheest (G1), she encountered another male at the peak of his powers in Muhaarar. There was no luster lost in being outpointed by Great Britain's highest rated sprinter since Dayjur:
