The sequence kicked off with the Grade 1 Front Runner in Race 6. While our player had the 1/9 favorite, he also chose the right longshot as Klimt failed to fire and maiden winner Gormley strode to an impressive win at double digit odds.

Leg 2 was a lock with California Chrome as the lone single on the ticket. Race 8 was on the turf for top tier fillies and mares and our player spread deep here and cheered on Avenge to a front-running score off a 6-1 morning line.

On paper, the next race was a two-horse affair with Beholder and Stellar Wind renewing their rivalry. Stellar Wind prevailed in a gutty performance that was a treat for our player as he had both mares on the ticket. 2-year-old fillies would be the penultimate event and the ticket was all in on a pair of Baffert runners. Noted and Quoted, saddled in this race after a sparkling local workout, held on for the win that paid $16.80.

In the nightcap, fillies sprinted down the hill and our player spread five deep including Belvoir Bay who had never been on the hill. That fact only made her a better price as she rolled to a win returning $14.80 and wrapping up a generous payout  - especially considering the sequence included a California Chrome victory.
