A total of 16 sophomores are entered for Saturday’s highly competitive, $400,000 Bryan Station (G2) at Keeneland. The one-mile tilt on the turf is led by morning-line choice #7 Remember Mamba (3-1) for conditioner Cherie DeVaux. A winner of the Transylvania (G3) on this oval in April, the son of Kitten’s Joy has faced Grade 1 foes in three straight since that tally and will relish the measure of class relief in this endeavor.
Remember Mamba – With
- $6 trifecta key 7 with 4,6,11 ($36)
Remember Mamba – Against
- $2 trifecta 4,6,11 with 4,6,7,11 with 4,6,7,11 ($36)
Remember Mamba finished second in the American Turf (G1) on May 2, then ran a huge race in the Belmont Derby (G1), missing by a neck two starts back. The colt was fourth as the favorite in the deep Saratoga Derby (G1) in his latest performance. I love both the addition of blinkers and the cut back to eight furlongs for the Kentucky-bred, who will be rallying with authority in the latter stages of the contest under regular pilot Jose Ortiz.
Miguel Clement’s #4 Bottas (7-2) might have found his niche as a mile specialist this campaign, as he has impressed with tallies in the Hall of Fame (G2) at Saratoga and the lucrative Gun Runner S. at Kentucky Downs as of late. The dark bay son of Vekoma is a two-time Grade 2 hero who has never been better, and the colt would not be a surprise with Tyler Gaffalione inheriting the ride.
#6 Conducted (8-1), second to Bottas last time, is a dangerous speed option in the cast for trainer Jose D’Angelo. The fleet Mendelssohn colt will be making his third run of 2026 and will be the one to catch turning for home at a nice price under Luis Saez.
The Brad Cox-conditioned #11 Touch of Fire (5-1) has some excuses for his past three results and will be a major threat with his best showing on Saturday. The Juddmonte homebred was a game victor in an allowance heat on the course in the spring, and he is another contender that I feel might be best as a miler. The Constitution colt will have Irad in the saddle.
