German shipper Lacy brings a fantastic pedigree and some sneaky form into her biggest career test.
A slow-starting fourth in last year’s German Oaks (G1) on rain-softened ground, the Waldemar Hickst filly has turned in her best efforts on a good surface. She rallied from last to force her head in front in the T. von Zastrow Stutenpreis (G3) at Baden-Baden, showing admirable tenacity in the final yards:
Lacy made her first international raid in the Premio Lydia Tesio (G1) at Rome’s Capannelle, where she may be considered unlucky to lose in the photo. Trapped in a pocket, she bravely tried to muscle through, but found the door slammed in her face. She regrouped fearlessly and altered course to the inside, but could not quite get past Final Score:
