Breeders Crown Elims For Mare Pacers And Frosh-Filly Trotters For Profit

The Breeders Crown Countdown will be reaching its conclusion as the finals approach, this week featuring several eliminations of for aged pacing mares and two-year-old trotting fillies.

The first elimination for the aged pacing mares attracts Frost Damage Blues, who will likely go off the favorite after a first-over performance in the Allerage. Also exiting the Allerage, Divine Caroline could provide value, as she appears to be returning to her top form. Likely flying from off the pace, she benefits from having a smaller field.

Elimination two provides Lady Shadow an opportunity at redemption. Faltering after setting a moderately fast pace, she has the potential to bounce back, though she won’t be worth the chance. Rather, her neighbor, Devil Child, should be worth a play as she exits poor performances at Yonkers from outside posts. Hopefully the public neglects the sharpness she demonstrated from inside posts.

Ariana G highlights the first elimination for the two-year-old trotting fillies. Since forfeiting to an odds-on favorite in a freshman trotting event is foolhardy, there are two potential value plays here: Chezatter and Magic Presto.

Chezatter, the obvious of the two, finished second to Ariana G in several races this season, more recently in the International Stallion Stakes at The Red Mile. Magic Presto has hit the board against Ariana G but hasn’t had post-position luck. She at least has the capability of boosting the exotic payoffs.

Hillarmbro could potentially be the value in the second elimination. She seems as if she’ll go off the public choice but would be value if she offers anything higher. Aside from her, Evelyn has been improving in recent weeks and could be stirring for an upset.
