Edited Press Release

Breeders’ Cup officials announced Thursday one change to the pre-entered fields of the $1.5 million TwinSpires Breeders’ Cup Sprint (G1) and the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1) for the Breeders’ Cup World Championships on October 30-31 at Keeneland.

Due to a communication error at the time of the pre-entry deadline on Monday, October 19, Holy Lute was mistakenly pre-entered into the TwinSpires Sprint.

Holy Lute’s pre-entry from the Sprint has been subsequently withdrawn and has been transferred to the Turf Sprint, which is a 5 1/2-furlong turf race for three-year-olds and up.

The Turf Sprint is an oversubscribed race with 20 horses now pre-entered. The race is limited to 14 horses. Holy Lute has been installed as the sixth horse eligible to come off the preference list into the body of the Turf Sprint.

Post positions for all 13 Breeders’ Cup races will be drawn on Monday, October 26.
