Race 6 – Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint (G1)

A full field of 12 will dash 5 1/2 furlongs on the green to commence the play. Nine of the contenders in the field are European imports, making the first leg even more intriguing, and I will need a pair of runners to kick off the wager.

#3 Libertango (5-2) has never been worse than second from five lifetime appearances to date, and the filly is one of only two horses to upend the fantastic Sun Goddess this season. The George Boughey pupil was a clear second in the Cheveley Park (G1) in her latest venture and is a must-use under Flavien Prat.

#11 Hell of A Spin (15-1) has come up a bit short in his last three while facing some strong fields in advance of his U. S. debut, but he travels so well while doing so, and I have a hunch he will improve around a turn at Keeneland. An upset from the Naval Crown colt would be a fine way to commence the play with Mikey Sheehy riding.

Race 8 – Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1)

The imposing #9 Sun Goddess (6-5) will be a single on many tickets, and she deserves to be in the one-mile affair. The Aidan O’Brien trainee has been awesome this season and wouldn’t be a surprise with Ryan Moore signed on.

However, if we can upset the heavy favorite in her route debut, then the payoff could be substantial, so I’ll add three others in the event in hopes of knocking off the morning-line choice. Group 1 heroines #1 Green Empress (10-1) and #10 Amusingly (7-2), plus Chad Brown’s #12 Domestic Agenda (8-1), will make the ticket in the middle leg.

Race 10 – Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf (G1)

A full field of two-year-olds will run one mile on the green to close out the fantastic afternoon of racing. Joseph O’Brien’s #10 Folsom Blues (7-2) shows up every time and can cap an excellent juvenile campaign with a stateside tally. The Blue Point colt had a fine prep for the event and has proven he can fire over all kinds of going. Dylan McMonagle will take the reins.

#4 Haffner (8-1), one of four in the field for Aidan O’Brien, was impressive in his Royal Lodge S. (G2) triumph at Newmarket last time and will be a major threat with any improvement off that tally. The Justify colt recorded his lone subpar run over yielding ground at The Curragh two back and will relish the ground at Keeneland under turf ace Soumillon.
