Classic Empire tops early nominations to 2017 Triple Crown

Champion juvenile colt Classic Empire is one of 418 early nominees to the 2017 Triple Crown according to a release issued Tuesday morning by Churchill Downs, site of the Kentucky Derby (G1), the Triple Crown's first leg. The list also includes five fillies and a record nine horses based in Japan.
