Cocked and Loaded, working in company with three-year-old allowance winner Lewys Vaporizer, blitzed five furlongs in :58 over Keeneland’s fast track after the Wednesday morning renovation break with Jose Valdivia Jr. aboard.

Starting two lengths in back of his workmate, Cocked and Loaded produced fractions of :11.60, :23.20 and :35.20 before finishing on even terms with Lewys Vaporizer at the wire and then galloping out in 1:11.60.

It was the second Keeneland work for Cocked and Loaded, who earned a fees-paid berth into the October 31 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (G1) with his victory in the Iroquois (G3) at Churchill Downs on September 12. The Colonel John colt had worked six furlongs in 1:14.40 on October 5.

“The work was awesome,” trainer Larry Rivelli said, noting that workmate Lewys Vaporizer is being pointed to the $100,000 Perryvile at six furlongs on the same day as the Juvenile. “He’ll probably have one more work (before the Breeders’ Cup).”

Cocked and Loaded is no stranger to the Keeneland main track. The bay two-year-old broke last while making his career debut for trainer John Hancock in a 4 1/2-furlong maiden on April 9 and ran down 3-10 favorite Maniacal to score by a length.

“We started working on a deal for him right after he hit the wire,” said Rivelli, who had watched the race. “We got him in our barn a week after the race.”

Cocked and Loaded paid immediate dividends by winning the June 5 Tremont S. at Belmont Park.

“The knock on him was that he was small,” Rivelli said. “But he has a stride on him that is like a horse twice his size.”

Cocked and Loaded finished sixth in the Sanford S. (G3) next out at Saratoga and fifth in the Arlington-Washington Futurity (G3) before rebounding in the Iroquois.

“He had a tough trip in the Sanford, being stuck down on the inside,” Rivelli said. “At Arlington, I just chalked it up to the Polytrack and him not liking it.”

Trainer Mark Casse worked two horses separately on Keeneland’s fast track Wednesday morning with designs on October 30 Breeders’ Cup races to which they qualified via victories in “Win & You’re In” races.

Conquest Daddyo, a 15-1 winner of the Summer S. (Can-G2) at Woodbine on September 12, worked five furlongs in company in 1:01.20 under jockey Joe Bravo. Fractions for the move were :12.80, :24.20, and :36.80, with a gallop-out of six furlongs in 1:16.20. The son of Scat Daddy is being pointed toward the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1).

Catch a Glimpse, winner of the Natalma (Can-G2) at Woodbine the same day as the Summer, covered five furlongs on her own in 1:03.20 with exercise rider E.J. Bowler holding the reins. Fractions for the move were :13, :25 and :37.60, with a six-furlong gallop-out in 1:16.60. The City Zip filly is readying for the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (G1).
