WILL TAKE CHARGE had an interesting 2013 that culminated in a head victory over Game On Dude in the Grade 1 Clark Handicap. The son of Unbridled's Song was first or second in seven of his nine starts, 10 graded stake races, and in the other four he lost by a combined 63 and one-quarter lengths. The only question here is how he will run off the layoff as a four-year-old so going to settle on REVOLUTIONARY for the upset. REVOLUTIONARY won the Louisiana Derby last year then was third in the Kentucky Derby and fifth in the Belmont before going on the sidelines for seven months. He made a return to the races last month, was well bet, and his class carried him to the victory. He has tactical speed and has a conditioning edge on his rivals. In additional to WILL TAKE CHARGE; RIVER SEVEN, ROMANSH and BOURBON COURAGE are all coming off of layoffs. River Seven and Bourbon Courage ran one-three in the Harlan's Holiday over the Gulfstream track back in late December and can win on their best day. ROMANSH finished behind WILL TAKE CHARGE twice last year before freaking in the Grade 3 Discovery in November at Aqueduct. He may be better second off the layoff, but could be worth a wager if overlooked in the betting. John Velazquez will ride for the first time.
