Dover and Rosecroft offer solid Tuesday cards
With milder temps expected to return on Tuesday, a trio of events for pacing fillies and mares will garner the spotlight at Dover while a full field of eight older pacers will head the Open 2 that same evening at Rosecroft.
Just past the midway point of the Tuesday card at Dover eight pacing fillies and mares will meet in the first half of a split, non-winners of $9001 last six starts class.
Both Allisa Page (Tony Morgan) and Hostess Lisa (Ross Wolfenden) arrive with identical records of four wins from eight starts this year, but both mares are also entered for the $15,000 claiming tag and might find this group a little tough.
Railbound Bo Tox Hanover (Andrew McCarthy) should make her presence known from the outset and I'm Won Rum Wiser (George Dennis) will be in contention throughout despite drawing post six. Annabeth (Allan Davis), Jeremes Sweetheart (Jim Morand) and Double Joy (Tim Tetrick) also loom contenders.
Two races later on the card, eight distaffers will contest the $24,000 Filly-Mare Open where millionaire Sassa Hanover ( Andrew McCarthy) makes her seasonal debut for trainer Ron Burke.
Sassa Hanover faced the sport's best pacing fillies at ages two and three and will likely get another chance at the Breeders Crown again later this fall. But this Burke trainee is not eligible to the Bluechip Matchmaker Series that gets underway at Yonkers Raceway this Friday.
Looking to foil Sassa Hanover's four-year-old debut are Empress Deo (Davis), a sharp 1:50.2 winner in her seasonal debut and Open mainstays Fashion Showdown (Morand) and Springforth (Dennis).
Then one race later in the second half of the non-winners of $9001 last six starts condition for pacing fillies and mares, BJ's Sweetheart (Dennis) and Greatdayforamerica (Montrell Teague) will look to earn a trip to the Open against a trio of sharp mares, Quotable Quotes, J's Littlerockstar and McArma, all of which are in for the $15,000 tag.

Vapour N was a $54,000 purchase by Berry and the "down under" invader should have little difficulty turning a profit for his investors this season.
